Bits and pieces!

Although not as sunny as yesterday, the weather looked ideal for a stroll around the Fen. By the Reception Hide a very obliging Nuthatch posed for photos, but that was it until I reached the sluices. Looking across towards Wheatfen, a large flat-winged raptor paralleled the River Yare upstream: with the bins I could see it was an Osprey carrying a fish! The earliest I've seen one at Strump!

No more real surprises: a large mixed flock of Fieldfares, Redwings, Song & Mistle Thrushes along the track to Buckenham, while the scrapes held three Avocets and a Little Egret. The odd Buzzard and Kestrel and a calling Chiffchaff completed the day's tally.
