All kinds of goodies in the Yare Valley!

A walk around Strumpshaw with Brian was very pleasant and not without interest: lots of freshly-arrived Willow Warblers, Sedge Warblers, Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps, with Bearded Tit as a bit of a surprise...

I left Brian to his Vol. Ranger duties and drove round to Buckenham, picking up Little Owl for the day. Linnet, Sedge Warbler, Swallow, Ruff and Avocet were all good to see, but potentially most interesting were two raptors. The first was an interesting Buzzard-sized bird with translucent secondary panels. The other (shared with three other birders) was either a Goshawk or the biggest female Sparrowhawk I've ever seen!
