Strumpshaw Fen: what a difference a day makes!

Still trying to shake off a stinker of a cold, I decided to make use of the fabulous sunshine and walk around the Fen. At last all the paths are passable once again, so many of the regulars put in an appearance: Brian, Adrian and 'Red' O'Hara among others.

Although nothing earth-shattering turned up (although I definitely heard the Penduline Tit at the end of Sandy Wall) there was plenty to point the camera at: lots of Cetti's Warblers, a few Chiffchaffs, two each of Little Egrets and Treecreepers (including one with a very white head!) and at least four Buzzards.

An interesting duck on the spit in front of Tower Hide looked like one of the Ferruginous hybrids from Holkham: the white u/t coverts were more obvious in the field.
