Set at the start of the 20th Century, the NB's version of this timeless classic differed considerably from the traditional version, particularly in its introduction of a homo-erotic theme: but it was a marvellous retelling of the old Russian fairy tale which Linda and I thoroughly enjoyed. The full orchestra were incredible as was the entire corps de ballet. With supper at the Cote Brasserie, what a fantastic climax to my birthday celebrations!
