Prehistoric!

You may recall that Linda and I collect prehistoric plants: that is, species which survived the K-T extinction and cling on in remote parts of the globe. We have lots indoors (Norfolk Pine, Cycad etc) but the most impressive are those growing in the garden.

Newest addition is a Tree Fern (Dicksonia antarctica)  that Mum-in-Law decided had grown too large for her garden: it seems to have survived the move in the winter and is beginning to sprout from its crown. The Wollemi Pine has settled in and has begun to grow rapidly: a strange and beautiful plant. Elsewhere the Gingko, Metasequoia and giant Horsetails are flourishing: all we need now is a baby dinosaur or two!
