So where are the Bluebirds?

There was an absolutely tremendous rainbow over the Heath yesterday evening: a combination of a dark cloud background and a newly-exposed eastern sky resulted in these images. OK: I admit it! I have never noticed that the sky beneath the rainbow is paler than that surrounding it. I've enhanced the contrast on the last photo to highlight this phenomenon.
