Temminck's Stint and Garganey at Buckenham, but no Stilts...

A seven o'clock dash to Buckenham Marsh brought Linda and me two new birds for the year, one of which I hadn't seen in the Yare Valley before: a Temminck's Stint. It was impossibly far away (at the back of the 'scrape') and even that early in the morning the heat haze was ferocious!

The second (belated) year tick was a drake Garganey that refused to wake up all the time we were there!

An interesting bird was one of two 'gate-perching' raptors: I suppose both were Buzzards, but one looked more compact and paler. Other highlights included a very close Water Deer, a Common Sandpiper and Tuesday's Cape Shelduck enjoying a change of venue!
